Just got my 420 scope

I been eying them for a little bit, glad you like it. I see they make usb ones also but cannot find any reviews on them, i emailed the company and they just gave me mundane info, i asked what company makes them and they never told me:

Thank you for your interest in 420 Science. We have two models of USB scope, they are the 800x and 200x scope. Both scopes work on Mac and PC's. The 200x scope has a maximum video capture and still image capture resolution of 1280x 1024, and the maximum for the 800x is 1600x1200. Both are in 24bit color. The 200x features 4 LED lights and the 800x features 8 LED lights.

Anyone purchase a good usb scope for less than $100 USD?

Think of it this way - go buy a good telescope but before looking at the moon, take it off it's tripod. Then hold it up to your eye and take a look. You'll know what I'm talking about.

I did, Celestron.
Search Amazon you will find dozens.
$ 60-70 and I did not buy a cheaper one.

Bio wheel is right,
It can't be used to stare at the plant,
I take very small snips from different buds and use it like a regular microscope on a level stable surface.

a 30x. Loupe is the best. For looking offhand.
I use both!

yes,the best method would be to take of a small bud fraction, but you only need to rest it on the bud long enough to check out the colour of the trich wich isnt too long at all tbh,to stare at the bud in ore is when you look threw it after harvest

Great magnification and light but unless you have a way of holding it still it's worthless.

Not true at all.

I have the exact same scope, have for years. It works just great with very little manipulating to get the lens where you want it.

Btw, radio shack sells the same one for well under 10 bucks, so basically you paid a lot for that 420 sticker.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Uh, no see you put exactly this, I'll quote it....

this is the cheapest place i could find it,£14.99+£1 shipping!

Conversion rate puts that at over 20 us dollars.

Vinyl is cheap, that sticker wouldn't cost me 20 cents in materials to produce, I could probably get 20 or 30 on a paper sized sheet of vinyl off the plotter.

Those scopes are bought in bulk from the same supplier that many places like radio shack, walmart, etc use. All they did was put a sticker on it and triple the price.

I hear you jondamon. I got a pocket scope this season, but I've had a loupe for yrs. I'm still having fun playing with the scope but I know soon it'll just be used once in a while. Ill continue keeping my loupe close at hand though. I'm not sorry for buying the scope, hell it was only $10, and I did enjoy the higher magnification, but for overall usefulness I will be staying with the loupe. It's so much easier. I can throw it in my pocket and not even know its there- nice and small when folded.

I use the Radio Shak version too and for 12 bucks it does all I need.
But I will admit, I really wish its light was LED like the one the OP posted here.
