just found this new way of cloning!! MIND BLOWING

thats way cool. i used to do that for bonsais doing it to trees and makes a bonsai real fast but never thought about using the method on weed. good find +rep
 
i wonder if you use that method and for whatever reason the plant doesnt root..does the branch remain intact and grow?..it should huh? and i wonder if it would be as effective on lower branches

I do have a question though ( My spanish is not good :) ) The last part of the film it shows a swollen stem at about 0:50 ... What is that part telling us ?

Also , I would asume the rockwool is wet right ?... looked dry ?

i dont know spanish at all so im with you. but yea i would assume the rockwell is moist..he puts clear plastic to keep the moisture in then tin foil to block the light. At the end it almost looks like maybe he uses the same technique lower on the branch. not sure about the part either. but i wonder why this is the least talked about cloning method??..is it cause it doesnt work well or just not as many people know about it?
 
Yep, air layering is the method used by the local citrus farms around me. They do it in the off season. Got to hang out with an orchard manager while he was setting it up on a naval orange tree. In your video they show only tin foil being used which is probably fine for cannabis. For trees, it is a little more involved...but the method is essentially the same.

The reason it is probably not talked about that much with cannabis is simply because it is overkill. Air layering is used mostly for hard to root plants where a cutting would die before rooting started, usually a few weeks for roots to begin. Cannabis will shoot roots from a cut in under 10 days, so no real need. I have used the method to clone a lemon and blood orange tree.
