Just been curious about this awhile, now...

I've seen a lot of stuff saying that someone had to basically do two harvests on plants, to let the lower buds/branches finish of because the received inadequate light due to shading from the canopy. Heck on my first auto grow I encountered that on 2 of 3 of the small laddies. Well, I WANTED to do it in two takes but had no time.

So....my Q is...on indoor, of course, instead of going through THAT hassle, y not just throw some CFL's down LOW (not ABOVE the canopy) to fill in at least some if not most or all of what gets shaded out... Just kinda thinkin' "out lout".

Anyone ever thought about or tried that? If ya TRIED it, did it doo the job?

almost anything you can think of has been tried
yes side lights help
yes you can harvest twice so both the tops and lowers are under the HID
like a million and one ways to grow
seeing how its personal preference pretty much any method you choose is the right way
and ideally you would LST to a flat canopy
but even under ideal conditions the top/ main cola is farther along then the lower branches
even with a flat canopy

Ok. Thanks for the feedback guys. When I'm able to start (tiny, 2x2x5 tent w/300W LED 5Wchip light), I'll try LST and If they need extra HEAT, as I have seen that may be the case with LED's, then the supplemental heat will also be supplemental CFL Lighting, under canopy.
