Just a quick question about my sprouted plants...

This is day number 4 of my grow and half of my plants have grown astonishingly fast. I was wondering if 2 and 3 inches is too tall for this early on in the grow. I thought maybe I should lower my light because they might be stretching to get closer, but I thought I'd get some answers from more experienced growers first. Any help?

depends on your lighting that you have and if its from seed or clones

The word "sprouted" suggests that they are from seed. The light(s) should be close enough to provide maximum light without overheating the plant.

How close is the light and what type of light is it?

it's a 40 watt fluorescent. not sure if you need to know the color temperature, but it's 6500k.

oh and it's about a foot from the top of my tallest sprout

You could move it closer. Put your hand on top of the plants and if it feels too hot, too close. I keep mine close like 3 inches from my tops while vegging to avoid rapid stretching.

cfl or tube florescent either way foot is way to far tube can almost touch the top about 1/2 inch cfl bulb then keep it about 3 -4 inches away.Use the hand test if in doubt. Slide youe hand at top of tallest plant with palm down.Lower light til the back of your hand is just uncomfortable hot and your close enough.
