Sure sure I guess the LP's gonna be capped at what they gonna make. I can't see the gov not wanting to make at least $2-3 per gram if they are talking about using the money for health/addictionrelated programs.

Well say an LB goes for $1700 (BC coast) so $1700/454 = $3.75 No way would LP's settle for making $2 per gram even if the gov charged $2 gov tax on top of that for $4/gram.

I would like to see retail prices of medium grade around $4-7/g and then for premium and boutique quality $8-13/g. I also believe there will be a market for organic and 'naturally grown' indoor cannabis, not sure where prices will end up. I wonder if super long flower sativas will be worth growing for retailers and cultivators?

Well it depends on what new "harsh" laws they are going to introduce to punish those who sell outside of the regulatory system. Most growers were doing ok with $1200 per LB hell they were still making money at $900 per LB although that was with much smaller amount of risk. SO the gove has to introduce hight enough risk to try to keep the price of illegal weed high in order to make the legal weed seem cheaper.

Another thing is if they don't allow home growing they can forget about 90% of the current cannabis culture from buying legal weed. It would look pretty stupid for the Liberals if all of a sudden they were throwing more people into jail with weed being legal than when it was illegal.

I realized this after I posted. But 5-8 isn't bad in a legal rec market. Some of the prices in Colorado and Washington are almost 20$/g.

yah $5-8 is much more reasonable but you can't ignore the amount of tax that could be generated. He might be saying this now but there's lots of hands behind him wanting that tax money.

That is for sure. He does put emphasis on trying to keep it relatively cheap in order to cut back on black market sales. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
