jiffy pucks/peat pucks/no medium

has anyone used jiffy pucks as the starter medium for clones, as oppose to rockwool.. in a net aeroponic system.. or would it rot??

I think it might rot... but I'm just wondeering if anyone has tried it or uses it, they are cheaper then rockwool here.. as far as i know..

also does anyone use a medium-less cloner like an aerocloner or bubble cloner.. and then plant straight into the basket with a medium hydroton/claypebbles/etc..

How is this working out for you??
