I just bought a young jade plant (1' tall) and since I dont get any sunlight where my apartment is located, I wondered if I could put it inbetween two 6500k 26k watt CFL's to supplement daylight?

Thanks

Mine was doing shitty in the window this winter so I put it in my veg cabinet, it's perked up and is looking better. I don't have the lights as close to it as the other plants in there though.

Thanks for the replies. I bought it from a greenhouse (was looking sad) and after only a week near two 26w cfl houselamps the leaves look thick, green and happy again...it's not placebo.

CFL + Jade = great.

I was having the same problem in my apartment, during the summer when I rented the place the sun was high in the sky so I had great south and west light but as winter came the large buildings next to me completely blocked out all light...son of a bitch... I put my minature variety jade and a bunch of other plants under a few warm cfl's because they started to look really sick and I could not believe the difference in health in just a couple days.

thanks, I have had it for about eight years now, I keep it pruned to make a nice bonsai plant
