So I couldn't get my answers on the forum, so I decided to start a grow-op to answer my question. It's also exciting since I've never documented anything online, so this will be a first...

Today is Day 1
Stage: Germination Period

Two small containers with aquafina h2o filled water

container 1: 2 Regular Jack Herer Seeds
pH: 6.3
temp: 70 F

container 2: 2 Regular Serious Kali Mist Seeds
pH: 6.3
temp: 70 F

Notes: Germinating Seeds are kept in a dark medicine cabinet with a lid..

respect keep us posted want to grow some jack myself any suggestions on the best seed bank to use to get some bomb diggity jack ???

i didnt see it? and i been scanning......what was the question?
can we have pic's of your grow op?

I was going to add onto the op as I go... the questions I was asking was the what the difference between dyna liquid gro and dyna foliage gro would be (I usually use liquid gro, but the debate was on the replacement foliage pro), and on a separate subject when to use "great white" rooting powder... some say twice (beginning and when transplanting) and some say just once...

I setup a separate grow-op to do these tests... pics will be uploaded when the seeds germinate...

...definately more to come...

im just guessing here but would it be a foliage spray, im using dutch master's range, mine is called liquid light and i also use a pentrator or saturature is what they (nute companies) call them now

no it's not a spray, but it can be used as a spray (just as well as liquid grow)

...on a side note, one of my friend's grow (using organic soil [doesn't have to be organic]) his crops was seriously lacking nitrogen so he diluted liquid grow into a spray and the plants immediately responded positively...

there is a good link about foliar feeding your babies on the forum have a look at that. from what i understand you foliar feed aswell as the normal feeds you give your plants just with less of a concentration mix some with water and hit the undersides of your plant.
as for rooting powder you will get a few different opinions different people grow different ways its about tailoring it to suit you i only used rooting gel once and thats when i germd my seed i just dipped the tap root into a bowl of the gel and trasplanted into root riot cubes mine are coming along nice you can get a rooting enzyme to mix into your res that will help the plants on the second transplant. dont know if that helps pal

Day 3 - 02.19.10

-all four seeds have germinated... I have transferred it to four rockwool starter blocks covered by a dome. I have not added any nutes, but the water I'm using is treated with a pinch of Great White, and the pH is stablized (note that the water was more basic (higher pH) when runned through the blocks) to 6.3. Current Temp is 70F

just food for thought....pre soak your rockwool cubes for 24hrs in 5.5pH water, then rinse once and plant your seed, some rockwool fibres are too compact for the tap root, ive been advised to try some rapid rooters also

dude you said your seeds were germinated i didnt see any tap roots lol ill take your word for it. and i would pop your germed seeds in the hole in the rockwool and pinch a bit off the corner and cover roots like dark places peace

yeah they did germ, but i went away for 4 days (funeral in another state) only to come back to dry-as-fuck cubes....was shattered :(

yeah i only use black tubs, then cover in foam and reflective tape to insulate the nute temps..

nice little set up you have, and i just bought a nice big humidity dome same as you! looks like they work a treat

that would explain it. and your using nutes on seedlings ?? what you using thought nutes at such a young age would kill them babies

That's an awesome idea... I never thought of that - I had a conditioner I used, but ran out. Rather than wait, I opted for an alternative...

I haven't started on the nutes, just ph balanced water and some great white... 3 of the 4 seeds had the tap root... Rather than wait... I decided to pop them in and get it started... When they start poking out I'll have a light concentration of nutes started...

Hell no Shadow....here is my answer to a question/thread that was just posted in relation to giving seedlings nutes....

only water, they are only seeking out moisture at this stage, let them be please......

The tap root is searching for a desired depth in relation to the moisture content and density, (excluding genetics here) they are programmed to only search for two things when germinating---moisture and light, the cotyledon's will do the work for you at this stage of its life (the first two leaf's that pop out from the seed) the seeds program will only need the water and light to sprout the next leaves, after this then you may add 1/4 strentgh ONLY....even less, or not at all depending on what medium you are using....... hope this helped yop, without having to go into plant science for you.
