I've got fly's of some sort

Can anyone identify the bug in this photo - I got clones from a buddy and am using fox farms ocean forest - I have a ton of these bugs and don't know what they are or how to get rid of them. This is my first grow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking fungus gnats after looking at some images on google - can anyone confirm. The above pic is a dead one in water.

I think it may be fungus gnats or something. I had little bastards that looked like that before. They kept dying on the buds and what not, that was during my first grow. I was using MG soil, I think that may have been a culprit.

Anyways, I read several ways to fix them, the thing I found that worked for me was getting Bug Off! or some sort of spray from htgsupply.com. I forget exactly what it was but I sprayed the top layer of the soil for a week or so, I also let the soil dry out because I found that they didn't seem to multiply if the soil was more dry. Hopefully this helps. Let me know if you need more clarification.

yeah, I was going to head down to the local hydro shop later today - I need to get a ph meter - I'm having a difficult time with the ph drops test. Being partially colorblind to red/green hues makes it near impossible to read those things. At least I don't trust myself. I'll ask them what they recommend. I may just go with mosquito dunks - I saw a 6 pack at home depot for $10 - offseason item is my guess as I thought they would be cheaper. I don't want these things when I switch to flower in another week or so.
