so same buddy gave me a used filter that someone he knew was using.. but the filter has nothing in it no rating or size brand nothing. there's no way I can figure out the cfm rating or brand?

Measure the length and width and compare it to filters of the same size

so I'm assuming it's like an 700 to 1000 cfm filter.. my fans are only 452 cfm.. would they work.. but before I hook it up in my tent I noticed the filter is a little damaged.. the bottom lid thing is kind of loose and it's seems to leave this charcoal like powder everywhere.. that's gonna cause problems in my tent, no?

Ya. The carbon will leak out and then the filter wont filter anything...

I have one those. Google ventech 6inch carbon filter. They work great until full flower.

Get some Activated Carbon. (Aquarium supply) and refill.

I think it's just that the lid on the bottom is loose. and it looks beyond repair..
