I have my grow room up in the open attic. Got a 12 x 6 area enclosed. It's way too hot up there right now. The opening to my grow area is in my closet. So I want to pop a hole in the ceiling of my closet towards the corner so i can run an air vent or line through it. I want to attach a fan to it to help draw some cool air into that space. Is there a special fan for this purpose? Like from a hydro store or something? Any one done this and was successful with it?

Youre best bet to lower the temp in your grow attic would be to cut an opening in the attic roof and install a whirlybird. Hot air rises and you want an opening above your grow setup for the hot air to escape upward.

attic is a large area to cool, may be cheaper to find a air conditioner instead of a in-roof exaust. but yes they sell in line fans in diff sizes at almost any lowes or home depot.

your best bet is going to be a combination of everything... you need to make sure that there is enough ventilation to allow hot air to ecsape your attic and you nee to get cool air up there via air conditioners or an inline fan or both...

What are the temps up there right now? When I put insulation in my attic it got to 135 degrees during the day. The only way to combat that would be to build a self enclosed room with an air conditioner.

Bro, wish I had some answers for ya...I just got through a heat wave and my plants took a beating. The room is finally "nice"; now and they aare playing nice now...
