This happened last year also. Next year I'm going to grow in tomato cages? Any ideas?

She will likely make it, I would try and support the branches with some bamboo stakes or something to keep the weight off the splint. That might help as well.

breaks like that you can also tape together and then as mentioned above support the heavy branches, tomato cages work very well for that
