It starts

Hey guys, finally decided to post. I'm at the end of flower week 9 on my first two plants, and have another one about three weeks into flower, I mainlined that one. I have one goofy looking clone that I just made the newbie mistake of cloning after I put the mother plant into flower, and then to top it off, I made a bunch of clones, from that clone. But hey, I need seeds. That'll come soon hopefully.

So it's going well for my first time, my first two look ok for bag seeds. The third is hopping and popping, but I feel as though I see pollen sacs on the lower nodes, put what appears to be pistils at the top most new growth tips.

Serious budget build, I have a space heater on fan mode, a dinky table top fan, and three 5 way split bulb holders running 15w LEDs (100w). Using 6500k and 3000k for veg and flower. Just almost finished a home build charcoal filter, but still need a fan for that. All in all its going well, still learning, my next major thing is getting a 2x4x8'ish grow tent, and fix my temperature issues in the flower room.

But I'm happy, work in progress :)

Alright, first harvest from those two plants were a whopping 38g :) It smelled sweet, smoked smooth. Minus the yield, it went very well.

So next plant is my manifold. Its doing very well. I'm in week five of flower right now, and my first clone from those original two is in week two of flower. I have four more little clones still vegging.

I bought a tent that's 2x4x7'. Very happy with it. I have a small fan rigged as my exhaust fan to keep the temperature where I want it, which was a big problem for my first two. I also got a usb microscope/endoscope. Next purchase will be a 6" exhaust fan/carbon filter. After that, I want another tent just the same as this one, which I plan on putting in a shelf, so I can have room for clones, and continue to veg as they get bigger. Right now my clones and even while still in veg, are in a little cardboard box. Another soon to be purchase is another light. Either I'm going to save for a grow LED light, or just buy another 5 way splitter like I run right now.

In the tent is two five way splitters, running 12w LEDs (I wrote 15 previously, they're 12). I would like more than 120w. But an air cleaner is more important, so I may get another five way splitter for now, it can be had for about $30.

I have my manifold lollipopped. Not sure if I should do some more leaf trimming to open up light or what.

And I have some feminized pineapple haze seeds on the way :)

Not much going on. Added an additional light for the tent, and bought a carbon filter/fan assembly. I got it installed, then it started sounding funny, then started to smoke. So I took it back out, opened up the box, and it was not wired in accordance to the little sticker inside. So I re-wired it and it worked fine. None the less, I sent the seller a message saying it was wired wrong, it works fine, but I don't want that fire hazard in my grow tent. So they sent me another. I'm still sketched out about having a fire in my grow tent, so the new one isn't in. Just sitting on the floor. But it certainly does its job at filtering the smell. I may or may not put it in the tent. If I could go back in time, I might of just bought a stand alone carbon filter air purifier for the room. Its loud, even though this one has a speed controller, and on low its still pretty loud. This is also my office/computer room, so I don't want to hear it.

Got my seeds in a while back, haven't sown them yet. I'm out of room. One plant is in week seven of flower, another is in week three. I have four clones getting close to outgrowing my veg box. But if I don't start a new cop on the 7th like I wanted to, I won't keep my schedule of harvesting once a month. The four clones I'm just going to throw into flower kinda small, whenever I figure out my plan on doing that.

Made little air filters for my tent, so the exhaust fan doesn't suck in junk. I have an australian shepherd mix, she's a hairy devil. Just a $1 furnace filter, and an empty coffee can.

Also started playing with compost tea.

Dangit I'm excited to grow my first crop of real seeds. But I need to plan it.

Alright, there's one little guy planted in that pot. I'm so excited to grow a legitimate seed/strain for my first time :D I also need to uppot those 4 something fierce, and I am out of room, but still have 1-3 weeks on one of my flowers before harvest. So... I'm winging it. As soon as I can, I'm getting a second tent, and putting shelves in it, so I can have a nice big clone/seedling level, and a larger veg level, all in one tent. Soooooon. Hopefully.

But countdown to pineapple haze begins today.

Couple small updates:

My next plant should be ready soon, its in week eight of flower. Everything has yellowed something crazy. But the trichomes aren't quite ready. My first clone is in week four of flower. It's looking good, minus the buds are just staying tiny. But it was a clone, from bagseed, that I took after the mother was in flower. lol. New guy stuff. TBH I'm not terribly worried about either, they'll be just fine.

My four clones of the clone (new guy stuff) are doing well. I'm behind on getting them ready for flower because I have no room, so I've kept chopping them back, just got 1 gal pots and with my new make shift veg box, they can keep growing finally.

My pinapple haze germinated and grew like the dickons, then just stopped, hopefully just growing roots. One of the two cotyledon got snagged by the seed I guess as it popped off, and got taken out. Sure that stunted it. Its a bit leggy, but it'll be ok after I repot.

Well things could be better. My pineapple haze seed is just sitting there. It does have it's second set of leaves, but it hasn't grown, doesn't look sick. Just stalled out. So I begun to germinate another seed. After about five days or so and no sprouting (in a paper towel, in a ziplock bag). So I tossed it out and started a new seed. Two days in a towel, has a nice tail, I planted it this morning.

Harvested my manifold on sunday, been in a box hang drying since. Today is the 4th day of drying and it still seems kinda wet, I'll give it a few more days.

Not trying to be a post whore but I do feel better. Came home from work and my first seed has some visible new growth, albeit small. My new seed I planted yesterday broke through and is showing with no cotyledon damage! I still have to see how it does, but I'm hopeful everything will be alright now. I mean I know how it is, you grow thousands of seeds; some are going to have problems. But being my first experience with this company, I was surely watching it like a hawk lol.

Also tossed my four clones in flower. They're smaller and not ready, but I'm close to a month overdue on my next batch. More even because I'm starting from seed. It'll be ok.

Oh, also ordered some flower food finally. Nutes have been a big downfall for me, as I set money aside for equipment, nutes took a backseat. So I have some Botanicare PURE BLEND PRO Bloom Soil 1-4-5 heading my way in a few days.

My first manifold came out to 38g. My they were big, volumetrically; weight not so much, they were super fluffy. Smoked great, tasted great. I read fluffy buds could be high temps, lack of nutes, and lack of light. So I have my bloom food now, I added another 5 way light in my flower tent, and my temps are kept in check much better.

My first clone did well for me screwing it up. About 26g, small denser nugs, I've yet to try it yet, I will today. But I harvested last Monday, and jarred it yesterday after work.

My four clone of clones look good. Small, super flower stretch, but look healthy.

My two pineapple haze are... existing. Its now been almost a month, they're tiny. I'm not sure what stalled them. Low temperature might be part of it. I'm still working on keeping the room's temperature regulated. Some nights are so cold the room drops quite a bit. My thermostat doesn't work with the electric heat, so I have to manually turn it on and off, or else it'll stay on and roast the house. I just got a tiny space heater as a dirty santa gift so I plan on using that. But I didn't work lol. Maybe I can fix something. But they're finally showing growth. The second seed I planted is doing better and has more growth than the first. I stole the 5-way bulb splitter from my veg box for my flower tent, so for now the two seeds are getting two led bulbs, at 15w/ea. I have another 5 way splitter on the way. But at that size, I assumed it was ok. I'm ordering some veg food today as well.

My girls had some soil mold. I re-potted to a one gallon a few days back. I switched over to coco coir. Never had a problem with mold and moisture before, but I guess this stuff just holds so much moisture, I'm not familiar with the weight yet, so I guess I over watered for how big the root ball is. Mix that with this is my first winter, so the nights in the room get to mid to high 60s(f). It was enough, plus my lower stems are kind of low to the pot. Spotted it this morning, just scooped off the top layer. Added another fan to my veg box. I've only ever had a tiny fan in that one, but with the lower temps, I guess more airflow is in order. Hope it helps, plus letting it dry more between watering, and only water the root ball area.

They're doing well. I'm planning to mainline one, and I'm not sure about the other. When I re-potted I trimmed up to the third node on both. The Pineapple Haze is a 70/30 Sativa/Indica, so I want to control height with mainlining. But that's a long time, so I kinda want to send one into flower soon because its 10-12 weeks for flower, and mainlining will set me back time wise. But I want to let them grow out a bit first so I can gather a good amount of clones.

My last four clones of my original bag seed are hanging in there. They're about ready to harvest, I took the colas off because I felt they're done. Plus they were toppling over. While I was at it, I did a pretty extensive fan leave removal to let in light to the lower buds. I'll probably give them another week. I've heard mixed reviews on defoliating so much, but they are basically done, and I would rather do it myself to experience why people think one way or another. But those popcorns are not ready.

And now I've had experience with 1 gallon fabric pots, and 5 gallon. 5 gallon is too big, 1 gallon is too small, it dries so fast, those four clones are the first time I've ever had the leaves wilt. So when its time, I'm going to get some 3 gallon pots. The other plants I've had in the 5 gallon pots, the root ball was basically a 1 gallon size anyway, and that's because I did not veg long enough.

Oh and btw, the picture of the 4 clones was after removing the main colas and defoliating.

Yes you've got to move a lot more air I'm not sure where you found the mold did you mean it was on the plants or on the medium?

Just on the surface of the medium, nothing on the plants. I just never had the slightest problems before with moisture or humidity. But like I said, its my first winter growing, so the house gets pretty cool at night. Even my leftover coco coir in an open bucket got mold, and that was just watered enough to turn the brick into fluff.

Little update:

Finished mainlining both plants, still vegging. I took four clones each. The top row in the pics is the plant on the left, taken seven days ago. The bottom is the plant on the right, taken the day before yesterday. I kept them in a glass of water for almost 24 hours until I had time. I don't need eight clones, I can't handle that many plants. But who knows what may die. I do want another tent soon. The vase in the middle was just goofing. I read about cloning via straight water. That was the excess top, so I put it in water with rooting hormone. It is growing roots, but they're small.

I have a paperclip holding the left plant down. Once it gets a little bigger I'll attach rubber tie downs, just waiting for the stems to get meatier. This whole thing has been super slow. I don't know why. I asked in the forums, suggestions are more nutes, more or closer light, warmer nighttime temps. I've done them all. It may be getting better.

Over a week and not much change. They are growing, I continued trimming bud sites I didn't want, arranged and added tie downs. Let my clones dry out on accident, there was still moisture, but apparently not enough, I did water them the other day; maybe they're just drying out faster with some roots, I don't see any out the bottom yet. My vase clone is doing ok, mad looking, but I think it'll live. I foliar sprayed them all with a diluted veg nutes, don't think they cared for that. They were pretty green and happy before that. I think a lot of the clones will pick up now that I've watered again. But that's it. Also put the two main plants on small boxes to see if they can escape a colder floor, if it changes anything at all.

Switched to 12/12 yesterday, but I've had pistles for a bit. I was attempting to bend some of the main colas, and ended up snapping one so I stopped. I attempted to tape it up and fix that stem, and so far its' been successful even though I broke it all the way through minus the skin on one side. After breaking that stem, I decided to forego my scrogging ideas. Next plants.
