i meant to link a magazine article that told how it was done. they detonated a bomb under water off the coast of some city near there. they filmed the surfer and the detonation separately but in the same area. it wasn't actually by that bridge, they just made it look like that. it was originally shot in high def but altered to make it look like a video phone or a digital camera captured it.
