Is this normal?

I have 2 plants outside that are a month an 8 days old and still havent shown sex....is this normal?

and one smells like weed and is a lil smaller and a lil more bushy than the other one and the other one has no smell at all..is it possible to tell sex by smell before you can physically tell?

May I just presume that you live around the equator or in the southern hemisphere? Otherwise I can't imagine you growing pot at the cold temps that are "up here".

If you are from the S hemisphere, you still have alot of sun and I'd presume that the day has some 16-17h of light. In these conditions, don't expect any flowering yet. April-May is the usual harvesting month for weed, so you still have at least 3 and a half months left. I'd say that sex should appear in max a month.

Smell has nothing to do with sex, both female and male plants produce terpenes responsible for aroma and smell.

the smelly one is probably a skunk strain. the one that doesnt smell isnt... they will show sex once they are getting 12 hours of dark per day for a week or two. until then, now way to find out (unless they show the pre flowers at apx 2 months in veg).

they have no choice but to do what you want them to do.
