Is this normal for a 400w MH

Hey I have this 400w MH bulb and the inside of the bulb looks like it has melted. Is this normal for it. That's the side that faces down but the top of it looks clear and normal. I just don't wanna run it if the bulbs gonna explode.

Yea it still fires up. That's why I was wondering if it was still good. I have had the bulb for a few years but never really used it, maybe 3 months. (To be honest not sure how long they are supposed to last)

It's good, just remnants of the manufacturing process and break in.................glass grenades are rare, but it should be in an enclosed fixture for safety!

Ok I do plan on getting an enclosed fixture in the near future. And thanks for the help. Makes me feel better about using the bulb.
