Is this lighting setup good?

I'm growing on CFLs and I have these lumens:

Warm white: 1800 lumen
Cool daylight: 3080 lumen

I also have an aquarium minilight (I'm not sure if I'm going to use it) which is supposed to be daylight, it doesn't have the lumen rating on it.

I was going to veg with the cool daylight lamps and then switch to both cool and warm CFLs for the flowering.

The area is about 1x2feet. Any tips or suggestions?

PS: is there any particular nutrient ratio good for growing pot?

ok....how tall is ur space?

depending on how many plants u wanna grow, ur gonna need a min. of 3 26w cool whites for veg.....flowering is totally different. make sure u have more warm then cool when u flower. I would up that 2 6-7 per plant. make sure u have a good reflector on them....also for nutrients i would use general hydroponics maxigro for veg and maxibloom for flower

About three feet. And I was thinking maybe 2 or 3 plants.

When you talk about watts do you mean light output? Coz in that case I've got a combined output of 300 watts on the cool white and 165 watts on the warm white. Should I just unscrew some of the bulbs when I'll start the flowering or buy more warm white bulbs? Coz they're kinda expensive round here.

And just for the hell of it, how long is the ideal length of time for veging is?

PS: do you know on average how much it would take to flower under CFLs? I took a glance in the CFL subforum but I don't think I found anything about it

ok well 2 cfl is not enough for 3 plants, and you add actually watts, not that equivilent bullshit. you need more lights to grow any decent bud. like 8 for 3 plants, as many watts as you can afford.

in all due respect on your financial situation, you have to spend money if you want to grow. you cant spend no money and expect bud to form out of no where.

I see, oh well I'll add a couple of CFLs and just grow 2 plants instead of 3 for now. Thanks for the help though :)

edit: I have three CFL not 2

with cfls the more the better...in a small space you might have some heat problems just make sure theres some exhaust and intake of some sort to keep the temp down...

I was also wondering about the wall color. I've seen sites which suggest covering the walls with aluminium foil and others that say you shouldn't use it. Is it good or white paint will be better?

Adding to this thread, because I don't want to clutter up the forums with threads. I have attached the blueprint for my grow closet thing. Now apart from lighting and stuff is it an overall good place to house between 3 to 2 plants?

To veg proplerly...look for the daylight 6500K cfl's...you are going to need at least 5 per plant...but i would go with 7 or 8 per plant...make sure when the plant starts getting taller to have the lights above and on the sides of the plant. HAving a few 2700K or even 4100K (warm white & cool white) bulbs with your 6500K is a good thing...but make sure you're concentrating on the blue end of the spectrum. In my setup i had 7 lights...5 6500K and 2 4100K...and i had some amazing growth.

And then when I start the flowering cycle I leave only the warm whites on or leave them all on as they were during the vegetative cycle?

During your flowering cycle you would just reverse the light setup...i went with 7 2700K bulbs and 2 6500K...if you want you can put all your lights in there if you can...more light the better...but just make sure that you concentrate the red end more then the blue during flowering.
