The left is intolerant of anyone who doesn't think just like them and they are brainwashed into thinking everyone else is bigoted. Obama, Harry Reed, ex. thinks they know better then you do how you should live and have a morel wright to control everything. Pot is not a harmless plant. It is and can be abused just like alcohol. We need to educate everyone that most of us are working contributing members of society. I am not worried about some evil capitalist makeing money off pot. I would still grow my own. But i bet the growing products would sure be more readily avable.
What is the best way to contribute maybe support Normal?

We need to be above politics here because we need to stick together. We need to keep a 'big tent' approach and be grateful that people who share few other views with us are willing to set that aside and join together to help make marijuana legal. Whether we are left, right, or center we should be glad for every voice that adds to ours and not turn people away because of other unrelated issues. Let's keep the movement moving forward with as many hands on deck as possible.

I say thanks to everyone who supports legal marijuana. To that end I will try to keep my foot out of my mouth when speaking of those who may otherwise oppose my views. I don't want to chase anyone away from this issue because of how they stand on others. I say welcome, and thanks!
Agreed 100%. Personally I would love to get more involved in cannabis advocacy but the thing stopping me (and probably many other) from openly speaking out about MJ, medical or recretional, is that I'm breaking the law and I don't want to draw attention to myself as a grower and a smoker. There are no medical laws in my state and besides I don't really have a condition to warrant a doctors' recommendation, so as a recreational user I keep a low profile and am not going to be writing my congressman every week to ask him to do something about it. If I ever got busted that might be a different story, but my record is squeaky clean and I'd like to keep it that way. It makes me feel like a bit of a hypocrite and possibly a coward, frankly.

We are all breaking the law and face serious consequences if we get caught and I think that's the reason a lot folks don't speak out. And that in turn is why we can't change the law. Don't know if that's ironic, but it's definitely sad....

As for fox news and the politics, I disagree with conservatives on most things, but it would be great if they became anti-prohibition. Besides, Murdoch play a pretty mean game of chess and he knows which way the wind is blowing...

FOX news and FOX business news are very much pro-marijuana legalization! I have seen a number of positive reports on that network. It will be very interesting to see how the media covers the 2010 campaign here in California. It is good to know that FOX is on our side! Goofy as it sounds, they really are the "fair and balanced" news network.

FORD442, FOX doesn't hate Obama for the reasons you listed, bonehead. We hate O-Bow-Ma becasue he's turning our once great country into a Socialist Utopia, which has never existed, and never will exist. So, in response to your post, I can safely surmise 2 things about you:

A) You're a fucking idiot
B) You're also a fucking moron....
I could surmise the same thing about you with that "We hate O-BOW-MA" garbage. you have to be a fucking idiot. Who's we? I know a slew of republicans, both active politicians and registered voters who risked their job voting democrat last year. Politics voted for him why??? because they knew that the economy was in the shitter and they needed a democrat to spend money to help bring the market back up. What happend??? Well the dow is back to around 12000. Think Mccain and Palin would've done that? or was that just inevitable??? Cmon now.... we all know our economy was going nowhere with the GOP in office. If they were doing such a good job they wouldn't have lost congress and the senate... I can only assume from your comments and you being the spokesperson for "We" that there are more reasons than the fact that you're Republican that you don't like obama.:hump:i think riu needs less critics and more of those...what are they called??? oh POTHEADS! i hear THEY are a peaceful bunch.
I'm in no way a spokesperson for WE or THEY or THEM or US.. im a passive person.. i gotta say away from these forums on riu. no need to get riled up while i'm smoking my cone because of FOX NEWS...lol.. i watch it everyday for entertainment. AS A MATTER OF FACT. I'm watching it right now! and giggling my muthafuckn ass off. BTW. RIU is no place to be seeing Glenn Beck's face. that's like looking at pics of your creepy uncle while jerking off. GLENN BECK?

As a liberal I would love for conservatives, to actually be for legalization, since it would help capitlism but it will never happen.... The Republicans sold out to the pharm and insurance companys along time ago and could care less about doing what's right ( George Bush is a great example of this) Before you fox news junkies get your panties in an uproar I'd also like to say so have the democrats, Bill Clinton locked up tons of pot heads. Obama did stop the federal gov from busting medical marijuana dispencaries so I guess he's helped a little. The only way either party will get behind legalization is if their is money in it for them and that my friends is the truth!
