Is this early root rot?

Plant is at day 28 of flower using jacks 321 nutrients ph raises daily from about 6 to 6.8 so I ph down it daily to about 5.8 a 6.0 water temp is around 74 degrees I’m using hydrogaurd. I lowered the feed water just a bit cause I thought I was getting a little burn but not sure. Any ideas what it is?

looks like a serious pottasium deficiency?? Maybe..its hard to tell, those roots are pretty dark. I had some do this right around the same time yours did, but the roots were still pretty milky. Man if it wasn't nothing but lower leaves, I wouldn't stress, give it a day or two, and track the leaves and if no more degredate I wouldnt worry about it.
 
pH pens have a tendency to slowly die, confusing what the actual pH is. I would buy a backup

The root color can be what nutes your are using or additives like humic or kelp

It looks more like a nutrient lockout due to high pH
 
only additive im using is hydrogaurd. I think your right about the ph it'll get up to the mid 7s just about everyday then I down it to 5.8-6 and next day its back up again.
