Is this bulb safe 2 use in my ballast???

Sorry im slightly paranoid but id rather not risk starting a fire...

I ordered a new bulb and fan from amazon. The bulb is of a different shape/size n it made me hesitant to change it w/o double checking here first.

The ballast is a 150w hps (so is the bulb i bought) i just wanna b certain its safe.

Both appear to be high pressure sodium lamps, to me.

So size/shape doesnt mean anything so,long as both r the same watt and type (ie. Hps or mh)??

Shape doesn't really matter, you can tell by the construction that they are both high pressure sodium lamps. They both have the same internal components, mainly that long alumina arc tube. Halide lamps have a quartz arc tube inside that is thicker and shaped differently.

I was just being extra cautious. Ive nvr used a hps shaped that way so i wasnt sure . thank you for your help I greatly appreciate it

if your light is just 150W HPS , you don't need to order it .... they sell that size at Home Depot .
