Is this bud rot?

2010-10-29 18.20.59.jpghere are 2 pic of the same bud one side is nice and green the other side has a brown discoloration. What should i do with them if its rot?2010-10-29 18.21.14.jpg
 
i know i wouldnt smoke it whatever it is. if its mold its in the whole bud. does it all crumble when you touch it.
 
It could be. Is it soggy? The best thing to do if it is would be to cut out all the rot, and extra on the places where it was close to for it does not spread. It can be a rough thing to deal with.
 
spread, its systemic. its in the whole plant not just the surface. tech name is boytrus...sorry mispellede/.....Botrytis
 
This doesn't look like something that will spread quikly but I'd still chop it out. I've seen it on plants that are grown in constant flow systems. It may be due to sections of the roots shutting down.

Like I said cut out all the rot, you showed a picture of a bud with green on one side and rot on the other so I assumed its not everywhere. I have seen this before and it can spread pretty easily.
 
what?>???...h2 o2..its been cut so what would that do to it. you gonna smoke h2o2 on the bud?????
 
yeah its only on a few of the lower branches so far. I cut off those lower branches, i didnt want to start hacking into the buds to cut out the discoloration until i was sure of what it was and that u cant smoke it. Ahhhh one other question, u cant smoke it but can u make it into bud butter?

I grow outdoors and it has been raining the last week or so. I think that is what caused it.

Yeah I would hack away immediatly.

And that is a good question, but I think not. All the resin glands are shot, so you might as well toss it, sad as that is.

There must be some very strange reasons then why I have never gotton any of these types of problems in ops that I've operated over the past three decades. When I was an outdoor dirt farmer none of this made any sense to me either. I think moonshine would be great for making hash!
 
id at least m,ajke something with it. yes id agree the rain is the culprit. its your call to smoke it or not. me i wouldnt touch it but i care what i put in my body
 
there were some spots on the plant where i first noticed the brown color where it would crumble when i touched it
 
well i dont think thats realy a scientific answer..or an answer how it effects them anyways. i go by science not thoughts or opinions.

Perhaps you might want to if its that bad. This starts form the inside out, so there might be some you cant notice right now. But just make sure you chop all you see plus some just in case.
