Is this asking too much?

I was wanting to set up 2 separate 4x4ft. areas in a 10x10ft. room, 1 for vegetative, 1 for flowering. Is setting up 16 plants in each asking too much out of that space? For the vegetative area I would have pots at most 2 gallons, which are less than a foot in diameter each, so 16 is definitely possible I would think. For the flowering I would have 4 gallon square pots which are 12''x12'' so that would be an exact fit, a pot in each square foot. Each area would be lit with 600 watt mh and hps, for vegetative and flowering, respectively. How is this sounding to y'all? +rep for helpful comments! Thanks a lot!

You probably don't need the same size space fro both rooms. The veg room can be a bit smaller and can be two-levels.
You might want to keep a mother around if you find a strain you don't want to lose. and have more than 16 plants going in the veg area so you can choose the best.
16 square pots in a 4x4 is doable but you won't be able to rotate them easily if that's something you want to do.

Yeah I plan on it, I mean it will be a hassle to rotate them but it's worth it to me. Out of a 600 watt hps, in the 4x4ft. area, if I get a nice strain, could I get 2 oz./plant? and also is a 600 watt mh needed for vegetative? Is that too powerful you think? Thanks a bunch for the reply

You will get more compact growth from the 600 mh but it is not necessary...you can get t8 fluorescent lights for vegging that are decent and very affordable or cfls....2 oz a plant with a 600 with 16 plants going i don't think so....maybe with a light mover...and plants couldn't be too big in that space.

You don't think 4ft. tall plants could produce 2oz. each? I was thinking I vegged them for 2 months, hopefully get ~2ft. tall; then flower them for 2 months, I heard they usually at least double in height during flowering, so I'm thinking around ~4ft.? Does this sound correct or no?

If you veg until they are 2 feet tall they will get pretty big...between 4-6 feet maybe taller depending on strain of course, they double or triple in size in flowering...but it is very possible....just make sure they don't get too big that's all or you will get lots of popcorn buds...

How many grows you got under your belt??

2lbs from 16 plants is 1.49 grams per watt with 600 watt

you'll never fit them in if you veg them that long.

None. Ha. Noob here.

So yeah then it probably is most likely not gonna happen, especially on my first grow. Because I've heard that 1 gram per watt is pretty good.

1.)Popcorn buds are fluffy airy buds on the bottom that don't receive much light

2.)Yeah just being realistic...these other guys talking bout seemorebuds and yes he is very successful but he is a very experienced grower..how many of us can really say we have achieved 1.49 grams per watt??

So then if I reduced the number of plants, you think I could then obtain 2oz. per plant, since there's more light for each plant?
