Hello RIU family!
I am growing in 5 gallon standalone DWC buckets and, for this particular plant, am growing under a 315w LEC/CMH light . The strain is Northern Lights Blue by Delicious Seeds at 4-5 weeks after stretch ended, and the nutrients are GH Floranova Bloom, Liquid Kool Bloom, Calimagic and Great White beneficial bacteria. RO water (ppm of 30 or less). My current ppms are between 800ppm - 850ppm (ppm scale is at 500ppm). Daytime running temps vary between 72F and 76F, night time temps are between 60F and 65F. Water temps vary between 65F and 72F, but roots are healthy, white and odorless. If I've forgotten any details, please say so!
It started when I moved my autos from my 1000w HPS to my new 315w LEC. I saw this rust starting at my younger upward leaves which begin spreading. In the past, I've had rust but it went away after reducing my LKB dosage. I tried reducing the LKB to 20% (from 50%) strength, and raising my PH from 5.8 to 6.2. Symptoms did slow, but didn't stop. So, I began adding Calimagic. First at only 1mL a gallon, then up to the bottle strength dose of 3.5-4mL per gallon, and as of yesterday I've totally removed LKB and am waiting to see if it makes any difference. As of yesterdays res change, the ppm's after the Calmagic (only calimagic) were 280-290, then raised to 800-850ppm after Floranova (12-13mL). Res size is 3 gallons in a 5 gal bucket. Throughout the course of this problem, I've tried dropping the ppm's to 700 yet the symptoms continue to spread. My PH/PPM meter is calibrated and cleaned. I am at a total loss as to why this rust is continuing to spread. I've rarely ever had issues with calmag even using RO, it only began after moving the plant under this 315w LEC.
Am I missing something here, RIU? It may be to late to keep this from impacting my yield, but for the sake of future plants I plan on growing under this light, I'd like to know what it is that I'm missing. Pics of my plant below. Thank you so much for reading RIU family.
