Is this a MOLD problem, or something else?

Hi there. I received three plants that are flowering, and I'm being asked to finish them up and take them to harvest.
Fine, no problem, but several buds were infested with mold, which I cut away. On one plant in particular, the top two stems have some mold down on the stem where the plant split, which I have cleaned up, but the fan/water leaves surrounding the upper colas are all withered up and drooping, apparently dead. They're like this on both upper branches above the moldy stem spot, but nowhere else on the plant.
Anyone able to identify what this problem might be? Doesn't seem to affect the smaller bud leaves, only the larger fan leaves.
Thanks for any help in advance!
