Is there something around the house ?

vinegar is about a 3. milk is about a 6.5. However, values can very by 0.5 or so. The only exact way is to eventually get some ph 4.0 and 7.0 (or 10.0).

ph meter on ebay like 9.99 uk for s digitial one or go to a fish shop and get sum of those dip stick things best be safe than sorrry innit

;) you get a bottle of water & pop it open it will not sway in ph within the that time frame. I know some people may have different methods of storing water but I only drink bottled & it will not change ph in the time it takes to test ph / calibrate. I am not sure if it differs from state to state, but my purified water has always been 6.9-7.1 & I am sure my meter was to blame for being off 1 point those times it was not 7.

Thanks for the info, I tested some white distilled vinegar and it came out around 3.1, saved me from having to buy the solutions for right now.
