Is the REFLECTOR really that important????

i guess that i would go for the second one, mainly because it gives you the option to go vertical if you ever want to. both will work fine though. actually if you are trying to reflect a large area the first one is probably better, way wider 33"x27" as compared to 21"x9" but i guess that total size of hood doesnt matter extremely, all light will be forced down with the tube one as well. dunno, both would work.

yeah that's what i'm thinking... maybe go vertical but i don't want that to play into my decision right now though. I just don't know if the kahuna would make a huge difference or maybe even opt for a smaller kahuna type one. But I don't see why everyone just doesn't get the tube one??? maybe there is a reason why?

I'd go for the second one bro. I was actually about to buy one myself ha. Just make sure you have good ventilation for your grow area to accommodate airflow and steady temperatures.
 
To cover a 4x8 area efficiently with 2 lights you should definately go for the big reflector. The cool tubes aren't gonna cut it bro.
 
You can get different size cool tubes, I use 8" 24 x 24 and they do a great job much better that the 22 x 22 box lights and better than 33" parabolic reflectors and better than the 24" gull wing. I have or had all or the above and am replacing all with cool tubes. I only buy the German ones.
