is my seedling dead?

my seedling is about a week old, and had its 2nd set of leaves growing.
when it sprouted, my lights were too far and it stretched quite a bit and while trying to prop it up, i accidentally cut it at the bottom of the stem.

it was really healthy otherwise, but now it's no longer attached to its roots.
i re-planted it and cut the bottom in a 45 degree angle with scissors in hopes that it'll re-root.

will my seedling be okay?

Wait and see. Always be positive.

Probably not!

This time is when the most care needs to be taken.

Your only hope is to get it inside a propagator and hope that it roots.

Well its a good learning experience. Basically you don't mess with your seedling at all if you can avoid it. I usually wont touch my plants until they are 2-3 weeks old. It's pretty easy to break a plant anywhere near the younger parts because it hasn't hardened its stem yet. Pretty easy to break off buds also so be careful.

how often should i mist the leaves? i don't want to over-water it
