Is my plant going to live?

my stem was bending so i tied it to a stick to make sure it grows straight. how long should i keep it tied to the stick? and also is it a bad or good sign if my plant stem is purple?

i wouldn't tie it, just prop it. the stem will strengthen in a few weeks. purple stems can be caused by cool temps, or lack of phosphorous and potassium.
