Ok thanks for your response, good to have additional confirmation that the jar is fine. I'm pretty paranoid about eating contaminated shrooms, had a couple bad experiences when I was a younger.
I know a cube is a cube, but I have to disagree with you somewhat there. As I can tell you from first hand experience, that some cubensis strains do have different traits from one another, as some will grow faster than others, yield more, and produce higher potency fruits. For example this Z strain is colonizing at least 2-3 times faster than the Creeper strain jars that were knocked up at the same time, and growing on the exact same substrate, in the same conditions.
This is straight off a couple posts I read through awhile back on shroomery. The Z strain is known for producing large amounts of aborts with high yet fluctuating potency, but being a very low yielder of mature fruits. The Creeper is known for being a very high yielder of large fully mature high potency fruits flush after flush, with little to no potency fluctuation between flushes, one of the top 5 strains for potency in fact.
The Penis Envy I have going for my bulk grow, is colonizing seriously slow, (going on 5 weeks now, and the jar is only about 50%) but is known to be one of the highest potency strains of cube out there, so I'm sure it will be worth the wait. I'm only really concerned with potency, not really so much with yield, on any of my grows.
