I started my seed in miracle grow it seems to be growing well but i have heard or nut burn should i transplant it in some diffrent soil? one more question should i use fertilizer or potting soil im a noob i know :weed:
MG soil can grow plants fine, but it tends to have hot spots and those can and will wreak havoc on some of the leaves of young plants. The more you water the soil the more fertilizer is released so make sure you don't over water. water only when the plant starts to wilt until you know how much its using and can reliably time the watering. Once the plant is a couple feet high and has a bunch of growth it should cope with the Soil fine. After a couple months if everything is looking good you can start giving it more fertilizer, start at 1/4 the amount recommended by the manufacturer and go up from there. Fertilize once every 3rd or fourth watering. Potting soil does not normally have chemical nutrients in it, and would probably have been a better choice for a starting plant, its up to you if you want to transplant, its not a hard thing to do.

I have only used MG, but i think moister control is best or original i heard organic is bad. Never had a problem but i start them in a Jiffy pelet for a week or so then trans. when they are alittle healthier.

hope that helps

I heard that you can get the Miracle Grow Marijuana Starter Soil now. It's like at Wal-Mart and Home Depots. Better than Fox Farms Ocean Forest or Happy Frog by far.

I'm using MG Moisture Control with added perlite, applied a half dose of fertilizer early on and burn several of mine to a crisp. Used nothing but water from there on out and everything has been fine. I'll use it again simply because I have a shit-load left. But, I would like the option of controlling my nutes better at some point down the road. Until then, I'm going to stick with it and water only, and learn some more about what I'm doing.

I have never tried the miracle grow soil, but I have heard some bas stuff about it on here. Having said that from the looks of this thread some people have had some good luck. I will advise you to stay away from miracle grow 20-20-20 fertalizer. I mixed at under 1/4 the recomenned amount and it still burt some leaves. There is a link somewhere on here with a lide show of using miracle grow soil and nutes and what it does to the plants. You may want to give it a quick look.

I used it and my results seem good. It's my first grow I used MG organic soil, and I used MG Bloom Booster. It gave me no problems. I also mixed in a lil molasses....since i've been hearing so much about it. I say try it!

using MG with time release over 3 months.... i know, i know.. but i had it already.... all i did was mix it with some other soil i bought... half and half... so far...no complaints....i like to water when the soil is DRY...i use clear containers and wrapped the sides... so i can see from the bottom how the roots are and if their is moisture at the bottom... because you can stick your finger in there and it'll feel dry and there might be water(moisture) at the bottom where roots still can reach it (guessing when to water annoys me)

Miracle gro potting mix. (not organic) is da shit. Just add water no ferts for 1st 2 months then 15-30-15 Miracle gro flowering plant food when budding. Its awesome and your weed is so much more tastier and stonier than hydro weed. Im a beliver in soil based grows and I can understand why growers would use hydro to make money but not if u are growing to smoke.

There are a lot of very experienced growers who will use miracle grow soil in a pinch. (Like me)

I really like the stuff. I mean for the money and ease of use I don't think there's a better way to grow...

That doesn't mean I'd still be using it if I had more money to spend, but I'm completely satisfied with the results as far as a cheap soil anyway.
