Is it worth the effort?

I had an auto gifted as a house warming present, and today i pulled several "balls" off it. Other than that its covered with hairs, female parts etc. As a single, and i mean only plant outdoors, Can i keep up with it? Never grown outdoors or an auto, so looking for advice. Aside from the 5 balls the rest of the plant is female, i ate all offending fruit as i plucked them off. She or it is only 6 weeks from seed... whadya say? kill it or keep it?

Anyone else dealt with a hermi for a length of time? is it a losing battle? honestly a seed or three really wouldnt bother me.

Its only a single plant outdoors... do a few balls mean kill it? a few seeds wouldnt kill me, i still have my old rolling tray with the seed slot

This was a serious question.. Really want to know how long folks have fought off hermie's? Is it possible to keep up with it or not or should i post pics of my effort? I know some strains are prone, must be a few here that have battled though it till harvest

I say grow it. Who hasn't got a sack that was half full of seeds? You've already got that time invested in it. The only reason in my mind to pull it would be if you have neighbors growing. You can even grow with the seeds...just don't breed with them and perpetuate the problem. I've not ran into major hermie issues(just a few nanners in the last weeks) but I've heard some plants throw balls early and if plucked early no others turn up.

If it was a "straight" male, i say keep it until you have a decent amount of pollen. Hermie, I don't think there is anything salvageable. The genes are to unstable to breed it.

Who's breeding? It's a gifted auto, no other plants nearby aside from my tomatoes, cukes, etc.
Are you saying a hermie prone plant isnt smokeable ? Again... just lookin for others that have made a early hermie survive through harvest

Sure, you can grow it through until harvest. I guess i was looking at it from a different point of view.
