Is it silly for me to change lights?

I have always used my 400w HID Convertible for my indoor grows. However this passed month I impulse bought a Maxsisun PB1500 light on the Amazon. Its a 150w Full Spectrum LED with the Samsung LEDs.

I do open space growing, haven't sprung for a tent yet. My setup is an RDWC with just one plant, and a reservoir.

Question being, should I not switch to LED given what I have on hand? Ive never grew LED before. Interested in the power savings, but not sold on the savings vs quality of bud. I love my HID, but LED lights have come so far.

I think you will need more than that one 150 led to do as well as that 400 hid

Not to mention no tent, gonna be hard to get in the right zone to run LED. I would just run the HID setup.

You’re led will still make a nice veg light sans tent even

They claim its comparable to 300w hid. So I knew off the bat id be "-100w". F***er is blindly bright. Its crazy that I could I look directly at the 400w hid, but the leds, man, no bueno.

I guess ill just use it to winter my cactuses. Or just try it for an autogrow and see how it fares. For Science.

Good call on that. Because I only do one, maybe two at a time, the open space works for me. If I did a veg / flower open space then I would just grow autos exclusively. Which isn't a terrible idea I guess, for a micro perpetual grow. Maybe I'll just pickup a tent for the LED, I mean seriously, its just 100-150 bucks for a no namer.
