Hey I was just wondering when you put your lights onto 12/12 with a timer, if you think the police buy those specific records from the electric co. for their own cruel enjoyment?
 
well they can see when the power goes up and down but there not going to say anything as long as you pay the bill

The power used for your lights is not as much as you may think. With christmas coming up peoples electric bills go through the roof. Christmas time you should grow big!

The police haven't got the money to buy shit like that. If they have evidence on you then they can apply for a warrant or court order telling the electric company to hand over the records. The records will just be more evidence as before they even get the records they'll probably have enough evidence to convict you.
 
Yes they can see the lights go on and off every 12 hrs. I know this isnt practical but the best way to do it is to have two flower rooms. You can get a light flipper (google search) and what it does is every 12 hrs it flips from one room to the other. You use one ballast and the flipper has 2 cords per ballast up to like 10 lights or so. Anyways the ballast never turns off so you dont see that fluxuation in the power.

One 1000w light uses about $54 @ $.12 a kwh a month 12/12. Thats really not that much considering. I now have 4 1000w hps lights in my flower room. So I should see about a $250 increase with my window a/c included. Im hoping to see a drop in the bill since its starting to cool off. Prolly not though. lol.
 
yeah... I must admit.. the first time I read that article it turned my stomach.... made me whooosy.. I am sorry to spread th fear... just needs to be KNOWN..

I think that 99% of the time, it is totally safe to use 2-4 thousand watts of HPS with no concern as long as you pay your bill..

I Visted a garden in Oregon that had been down sized from 22,000 watts to 11,000 watts. The feds came across the garden while looking for a bank robber (growers step son).. Any way, the feds took a tour of the garden... and then left.. they said they were not interested in the GANJA FARM.. just bank robbers.. the guy is still growing today.. 1 year later...

He also got free electricity for 1 year because his meter burned out... The electric company is now back billing him.. his bill is still very cheap.. something like 800-1200 $ a month for 11,000 watts plus a portion of that is "back pay"...

yeah if u pay it they dont look at them but to be honest u got more of a chance getting busted on here then by watering your plant in front of a cop driving by ive watched it happen
 
I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you're draining electricity ( like 3, 1000watt HPS lights), the power company might get curious, and alert the police. But remember, electricity use alone is not enough to merrit a warrant.
They need to convince a judge (whose credibility is on the line) to write them a search warrant, and thats a lot of bullshit paperwork, so they better know what the hell they're talking about, have a lot of evidence, and do a fuckup job like the carlsbad CA police.

To the comment concerning them seeing you turn your lights on and off. Unless you have a digital meter that is physicaly impossible with a analog meter the meter reader would have to stand there and watch it to see when they came on and off. As far as the carlsbad people I personally know one I live in san diego and they were tipped off they were growing and the high usage just sealed the deal. By them writing the article the way they did maybe that what the cops told the reporter either way it is a scare tatic.
