hey guys umm i was wondering if it would be possible to grow in 100% potting soil? if not what is an easy mixture to grow in?

I use Miracle gro potting soil with, (for vegging, I use Shultz liquid plant food booster plus with a ration of 10-15-10. for flowering which is where i am right now, day 31; I use Miracle Gro plant food with ratio of 24-8-16). this stuff was infested with Gnats, but with a few (ok a lot!) of fly strips they are mostly gone. so, this stuff does work, but with the added nutes already in the soil, I had a hell of a time trying to readjust the ferts that my plants were getting i had to flush twice and still lost 3 plants

Yeah , that's the problem with MG ,it's really hard to control nutes. The pro-mix is just spagnum and perlite so I can know what nutes I'm using. It's available at any garden store. If you are using chemical nutes like those use a lot less than they recommend,1/4 at most. You can always increase feeding , and thats easier than flushing accumulated salts from over fertilization. GOOD LUCK!

Yeah, it was my first indoor grow, and it sucked to have to learn about flushing firsthand (and quickly, too!)

Well that's how I learned, I have made every stupid mistake at least once and some times more. If you are interested in growing in pro-mix there is an excellant grow guide for this at "Toronto420" . I can't seem to link to them as Mark uses a goofy OS,just do a search , be patient, it takes forever to load.
