Im not rly rich those days and i wanna run a single 600w then start investing more and more using harvesting money :P

but the question is; is it possible to have a 600w running without needing too much ventilation and stuff like that (cant afford more then 300-400$ of stuff (gonna have a 150$ deal on ballast + light kit (600w) so thats 150$-200$ on ventilation and ferts.

Room gonna be 12x8
Its in a basement with 2 window (1 near the small room) other at opposite.

i asked the same question once about a 400w and i found out through experience (unfortunately) that it gets prety damn hot if u dont have a good ventilation system. you must invest in a good fan at least.

controlling the heat should not be much of an issue for you in the basement. Keep good air flow and you should be fine.

That depends on the size of your grow room and what natural and or artificial airflow, or combination of both, you have and can count on to be constant and how often the total volume of air in the room would be replaced with fresh cooler air.

I have seen large rooms used to grow in where the reflective material was hung from something like a PVC frame and the lighting was of course hung from above and both were more or less in the center of a large room.

Because the ceiling was high so any built up heat would remain well above the plants and the room had a large enough amount of cubic footage and had a good airflow, either natural, artificial or a combination of both, they could run high wattage HID lighting without the need to quickly exhaust hot air because there was room for it to first adequately disperse and somewhat cool on it's own and to then slowly exit and be replaced by cooler air without any additional venting/exhausting system.

Unfortunately few growers have such a space to grow in. Most cannot dedicate a large room, even if they have one, to be totally sealed from light and then basically build an unsealed growing area within the large room.

Most likely if you are going to burn a 600-watt light you will at the very least need to use a CoolTube or a reflective hood that is glass enclosed and air cooled and in both cases that means at a minimum you will need no less than one fan and the ductwork and an intake and an exhaust.
