Is it ok the harvest parts of plants before others

Sorry for the noobish question but was wondering if it's ok to harvest some buds before others on each plant. A lot of my smaller buds are maturing quicker than the big dense buds so should I harvest the more mature ones or is it best to just wait for the bigger buds to catch up ? 20180603_105958.jpg 20180601_215731.jpg

a lot of people will take the tops off and leave the lowers on for another week or so. perfectly ok to do, just watch for nanners developing
Great thanks. It's the lower buds that seam to be maturing faster. 7 weeks into flowering so still got a bit to go. Thank you for your input

Hi Rignan,
Since you admit to being a noob (we all were at some point) I think it would be safe to assume you are incorrect in your assessment. Never heard of lower buds maturing earlier. I say leave them alone...unless you have confirmed by a microscope inspection confirming mature trichomes. Just sayin'

What MeanGreen said is typical. Tops closer to light seem to mature first.

When I can, I chop in three stages. My top buds get ready first, so I take the top 1/3 of each limb. {the budded part of the limb anyway} Then a week later I take half of what is left. A week after that, I clean up everything else.

But if you have a few lower buds that look ready, go ahead and clip a couple. You will get a preview of what is to come.

^ this and if the plant is big enough I take 3 separate harvests, that way you can have it dead ripe and it gives the smaller buds time to fatten up considerably! .. give it a try this way and see if you like it ?
