This is about 3weeks. i think its a little stressed out right now. but i got it settled down and its growing good.

hard to tell from the angle, but it looks really stretched to me - caused by having the lights too far away. if you are using cfl's you should have the lights within a couple of inches of the plant. also, you really should have more growth after 3 weeks.

verify - watering enough but not too much (look in faq for watering tips)
- soil drains well
- temps between 70 -80 f
- good ventilation to get co2 to plant

the temp is always within 75 to 80 degrees. i water a couple times a day. for light right now i am just using a standard 100watt light bulb. im about to switch to a metal halide bulb. i recently just started watering it with miracle grow.

and it seems like the stock of the plant is weak. i had to put a stick next to it to get it tom grow straight up.

Any reason why??

the light is your problem. that is not enough and not the right kind. you want to get compact fluorescent lights (cfl - they're the curly bulbs) - get 3 23 watt light bulbs and you should be ok.

same problem - the plant is stretched because of too little light that is too far away.

i have one 60w spiral type bulb that represents DAYLIGHT. i will put that in and put it closer to the plant. im going to let the soil dry up a little until i water it again.

Yes, get that bulb in there ASAP. Keep it about 2 inches from the nearest leaf. It is hard to recover from a seedling getting too stretched out so the more light you can get in there the better. Also make sure there is a steady breeze blowing on the plant. You can support it with a stick but the air circulation helps supply fresh air and remove heat.

I would also ditch the incandescent bulb and the tin foil.

Tin Foil is bad, you could leave the 100w in if you want as it could not hurt. Just get the CFL bulbs and keep them close!

Here is a pic of how close I keep my CFL tubes. The other pic is my plant after 6 days from the seed.

FIRST: Get rid of the foil
SECOND: Stop watering it so much, you're killing it with kindness.
THIRD: If you are CFL , then get them close.
GOOD LUCK.

took out foil. Put cfl light 2inches from plant and im going to stop watering it as much i will take pics later thanks for the help

well just the other day i noticed a little bit of yellow drying on the tips of the leaves. i give it constant light. i water about every other day. i have 2 more leaves coming out of the middle of the plant so its still growing i just dont know what the yellow is from will post up pics soon. i am currently giving it a little of water mixed with tomato miracle grow. i dont give it miracle grow every time though. The leaves are still point up (no falling over) so it looks like its still alive. i will post up pics soon thanks.

nah dude the standard light is crap get it out of there and also do yourself a favor and go read ALOT more and read the grow faq.

Hard to tell what the yellowing is from the pics. I wouldn't worry too much. Those first two leaves are designed to get the plant going and then they die. It's true the incandescent bulb is just taking up space and creating heat. It produces almost no usable light for your plant. Also, when you water you want to soak all the soil thoroughly. Looks like you are just wetting the middle.

i will change how i water it now. As for the light its not a regular light. it might look like it but its a 60w spiral light lol. it represents day light.

Thanks mared juwan for the input about the leaves
