Is hydro faster then soil? You be the judge

All of these clones were cut within the same week from the same plants and all around the same size. Some were rooted and started in veg in soil with CFLs, others were setup in dwc/aero foggers with led. 70% rooted successfully in soil, 100% rooted successfully in hydro

Yes.

So far all your showing is CFLs work in veg for small plants. We all already know this.
LED comes in all shapes, sizes and quality, not to mention have a learning curve with them. CFL is plug and play.

Yeah thats all true I was sorta high...I should have just put "hey look at my plants
No worries, cool of you to own it! I am a fan now, that atittude will take you far.

To dig into the post title a bit; Hydro can be faster...but soil is not soil is not soil, and hydro is not hydro is not hydro, dig?

If I use my Blumat drippers in lightweight soil with truckloads of photons, good humidity and temperatures, and adequate feeding the plants grow as fast as many hydro setups.

In my experiance hydro is faster in veg and soil is more reliable in flower.

As @Michael Huntherz points out differant soils grow faster or slower as well. I use a soil that has a lot of coco-coir in it and it realistically grows as fast as I want it to. A lot of that is because I clone then flip so those clones grow for 2 months. A plant can get really big in 2 months in soil or hydro.

Hydro screws with the growth cycle. Where you have to cut down 2 weeks early. Funny how us real farmers see things.

Faster is only better if the end product is equal. I prefer weed I can feel and taste over a crop in my hands a week early.

I find that hydro is the way to go, so can I poison my plants much faster. In soil, its been known to take me up to 3 months to get detrimental nutrient toxicity, but with Hydro, I'm easily able to euthanize an entire batch of clones, in a matter of days.

Lmao!

I've witnessed some pretty horrible plants develope in soil, but nowhere near as quickly as in hydro.
I've personally had amazing results in both hydro and in soil, I just think that the results are better in soil for the flower period. It's also much cheaper to grow in soil assuming you recycle your dirt, at least that's what I've found.
Hydro Vegs super super fast, but it seems pointless when I've got to veg 2 months no matter what to fit my rotation as its built. Maybe if I had 4 flower areas and i was trying to do a 2 week veg rotation.

once you go water, you won't go back...

You need a new hobby. I hear knitting can be fun

Not sure why you want to be like that, what are you talking about? Why is my post mixed up with other people’s posts? Are you an anti hydro guy? I am confused.

Anyway, basically everyone who replied is correct, many of them are pretty good growers, some of them are great at least some of the time. You should listen and learn, I have learned a fuckton from some of the members here.

You have been misinformed, everything in this post is incorrect. “Real farmer?” - do you think you have a monopoly on being a farmer here? Wake the fuck up, bud, you are just another meatbag like everyone else.

Repeat after me.
  1. “I am not a special snowflake.”
  2. “I don’t know everything.”
  3. “I will stop making false claims of knowledge immediately and permanently.”
