Is it really necessary to put your plants in the dark before harvest when the leaves are already yellow??? Shouldn't the plant have already done whatever they do to put out more thc,or whatever it does when its dying??? Does what I said make sense or am I just talking out the side of my neck??? I'm asking because I'm getting ready to chop these two and I want to get the most out of them as I can... Thanx ahead of time!!!20210423_135649.jpg20210423_135642.jpg

Definitely not necessary to do a dark period before harvest.

not even necessary to do a flush on the plants.
People only flush when they overfeed their plants. Flushings only advised before harvest is if you fed too much nitrogen as that shit can ruin the finished product. Sparks and crackles. Dont burn properly

If you follow mr. Canucks grow on YouTube he cited a research paper I believe it was from Switzerland that actually showed a head-to-head comparison between a plant that was kept in 72 hours of dark prior to harvest and one that was not the one that was not had less THC percentage than the one that was but it wasn't a ton

From the research I have done sugars and starches also resend into the rhizosphere during the dark phase so I personally would like as much of that out of the plant material since curing has to use enzymes to break it down

Flushing was big back in the day due to the harder Nutes that were offered and popular belief. Do you need to, no. But flushing helps break down the chlorophyll in the flower when it’s coming to Harvest time. This is done with tobacco as well. Just in a different way.

Nitrogen doesn’t make the plant spark when smoked. That’s Magnesium making the sparks also found in lighter flint, which means it was fed at high levels and never flushed. Which is why heavy medals are test at the lab.
