ideally you should dry your buds by hanging them or placing them on a drying screen in a dark area with good air circualtion for several days (time depends on conditions), then move them to a brown paper bag for 5-7 days to continue the drying process along. The paper bag allows the buds the dry more evenly by redistributing the moisture in them. It also (along with step one, drying in a dark area) stops the production of sugars and starches, this is what makes your buds tasted like hay, grass, leaves, or whatever. Once the buds are evenly dry, again the amount of time depends on the conditions in your area, move them to mason jars to cure properly for at least two weeks. Curing in the jars will bring back the dank smell, even out the coloring, bring out the trichs more, make the buds smoke smooother, taste and smell better.
