Introducing a new light?

can suddenly introducing a new light, with higher intensity cause any issues to plants that are already accustomed to lower intensity lighting

Depends how big a jump it is, but if they're past the seedling stage then you'd be better off starting them on the new light sooner rather than later. They might stunt for a few days but once they're over it they'll start enjoying themselves again..

Absolutely.
Ramp it up over a week and they'll be fine.
They love consistancy, but can take extreme changes if done correctly.
