i think i posted this in the wrong subsection where everyone is making their own LED lights? lol out of my league

check this out guys !!

Hello to all and happy new year. I am new to the forum, some of the guys over in the Newbie section have been very helpful. I was originally going to purchase a fully automated 9x9 and 5x5 grow tent from supercloset but i see now that may not be the best option. I have priced out my own build using all the same materials they would have used. The 9x9 and 5x5 closets from supercloset would have cost me roughly 13000 shipped. They use kind led lights and it has been brought to my attention they may not be the best option. I have much more research to do so bear with me while i try to piece this all together.

my main concerns are:
electric cost
odor while growing
drying, curing and triming without odor (#1 concern)

i would like to:
produce high yeild
excellent quality
(and im willing to pay a premium to do so)

heres my list so far:

4 gogreen LED lights – $3200 (both tents) 3 for 9x9 and 1 for 5x5

Super flow hydro system 78 count (52 for 9x9 , 26 for 5x5 – $2940

9x9 gorilla grow tent - $1,166.39

Blue Guardian x2 $507.90

Co2 Kit x2 $479.90

5x5 gorilla grow tent - $437.39

Stealth Water Filter x 2 200RO - $439.90

Phresh Industrial Grade Activated Carbon Filter x2 - 8" x 24 - $325.90

2 - 8" Hurricane Fans – 235.90

Ducting and Clamps - $200

Nutrients - $100

Circular Fans – 100

$10,000 estimated

thoughts on this? anything im missing here? anything i dont need on here? this is just the stuff these companies usually include with the tents (they charge extra for the c02 and the blue monitor) , i am going to do a lot more research on all the add on products listed but - does anything stick out to you?

im also curious as to wether i need x2 of certain things, for exmaple. maybe i can use the ph/temp monitor on both tents?

thanks for taking the time to read my post

edit: i forgot, also curious about whether thats enough light for the sq/ft in the two tents?

I am deff going to pick another LED light. I am more concerned now with what i'll need for my two tents so i can budget properly, this is my first grow. Thanks for your quick response.

They will tell exactly what you need when it comes to lighting and your space. pm Greengenes or Rahaz . You can go to Youtube and search Greengenes garden you will see his lights

I would start a little smaller. I think the problem is that you're trying to be an instant success instead of learning and expanding upon what you learn.

If money is truly not an object, then I think you made a good point in your other thread: spend the premium for SuperCloset setup because they'll support you in your [instant success]. The fact that you'll have less-than-ideal LED isn't a big problem -- because you're willing to pay a premium. (You can replace them in a year.).

If you want to save money, I would start small(er) and learn some things before going full blast.

Money is deff a concern but its 2grand more to have around the clock support (so they say) One thing about me - i dont start something with an expectation to fail. In my opinion thats not a good approach to any venture in life - business or personal. I may here some "i told you so's" but thats not how i operate. if i do a 9x9 and a 5x5 i can start on my 9x9 before i go full blast on both. Im also interested in a cloning room, not sure i need one. And a drying closet? i have time before i need that. but ideally id like to make a decision on which direction im headed and pull the trigger in the next couple days. I havent talked to the guys at supercloset yet . i have a list of questions for them - that will deff help me determine which way i go. But i find it interesting and a bit scary that everyones telling me to take a step back and start small, i guess - thats just not who i am.

i guess - thats just not who i am.

If you have that kind of track record, it definitely makes sense to put your money where your mouth is (so to speak, in the sense of how you said you were willing to pay the premium for guided success). It's not a lot to spend more later on a light upgrade.

I think people here have seen the "boil the ocean" folks come and go.

Let him do what he wants @az2000 if he wants to go big let him do what he wants to do!! Its his money not yours!! Why u sweeting it? Trail and error let him go along the path of learning!!

lol i mean boil this ocean is a bit dramatic no? i appreciate the honesty and bluntness though. Nice to see a different prospective from tropical

I didn't intend to be blunt. In the other thread you said you felt it is worth it to pay for the professional support (to meet your goal, to "go big" quickly). I think I may have dissuaded you by focusing on the Kind LED as a negative of the package. In the scheme of things (and your goal) that's a small thing.

If it were me, I would go small and save money. But, as you said, "that's not who I am." So, I may have side-tracked you from what is perfectly reasonable for you (having large ambitions and equal commitment to results).

I thought I was being supportive that way. But, as you note, there is a large number of cautious voices. And, we see gung-ho'ers occasionally (never to see them again, which can make people jaded about mental masturbation). So, that could be another reason to pay for the professional services which you saw as a value.

I hope that sounds reasonable.

deff that makes a lot of sense. That support, to me, justifies the ambitious plan. With that said - i think its clear now the direction i need to go!

@az2000 - where do you buy your seeds? whats your favorite strain producing the best results and yields and quality ? i was looking at herbies and breeder boutique

i know you mentioned the seed section but im asking you personally

How is it comING. I think people say start small because big systems can have costly mistakes. I lost 2 grows due to supercloset cabinet it having heat issues and ventilation issues and air stone issues. So at least you have a small loss. I only lost 5 to 600 dollars worth of product but imagine if you loose 5000 worth of product you accounted for after spending 4 to 5 months and hours and hours of tending water changing and nutrients and electricity but nothing is worse then the time lost. That's what happened to me. 1 mistake can mess up your environment and you can loose a crop within a few hours depending on what it is

And they do not answer there 24 7 support. So far I have called outside of hours on 5 different occasions and absolutely no answer. So support isn't to good when it isn't reliable. When hey do answer they are great
