Insight: Amare Tech Solar Spec LED Panels

Due to it becoming clear that the BML SPYDR 600 that I chose the spectrums for to be good for both veg and flower, has a major short-coming; too much red for vegging (though doing a fine job of flowering). I pretty much knew that reed should be on a separate switch, but guys were growing seedlings under 3000K COBs, so...

I have concluded that this example (sans red control) does not qualify as the LED Company I've Been Waiting For.

Amare Tech is a new-comer. Unlike BML, their panels were designed by a mj grower, the owner of the company, thus providing even umoles across the entire tent

Each panel has separate red/white o/o switches, which allows the grower to engage as needed, as well as piggy-back electric connections. Ultimately, he sees his panels as a system, where up to 4 panels can be connected electrically

I received both a SS 100 and SS 260 on September 18th. The 260 is waiting in the wings for the best plant to develop under the SS 100 (soon to be replaced with a SS 150).

Anyway although I was well aware that watts are not created equal, the SS 100 replaced the 2 white ufos (~ 100w total )that Jeff gifted me last December. They came san lenses, so I kept them closer to the seedlings and clones, but within 2 days it was clear that the SS 100 was a entirely different animal. Clearly not all watts are created equal. Intensity is the key. The clones that failed to root under the 2 ufos, quickly rooted under the SS 100.

The SS 100 appears to be a great light for a small perpetual grower, but when combined could easily bring 2-4 small plants to harvest. I call it The Little Engine That Could

Initially,, I had the SS 100 at 14", but after 24 hours had to move it up ~ 20" so the leafs could adjust

So here we are not quite 10 days later

Using magnets is just what I was looking for. It's like sun charging the water, but more convenient4 growing indoor with a nute rez. I will be finding a way2 adapt this 2my situation. I love hidden secrets of the world. I find planting by the moon worthwhile. Do you plant by the zodiac also? I couldn't find your info on the crystals though.

Amare tech.... Magnets..... What in the hell are you two even talking about? LOL This post right here is the only post at all that turns up for any search results whether on here, other grow forums, or google.

Maybe I should just get Supra and Captain on board and start up a company. Mad Science lighting, and make a line of lights called the Event Horizon (EH)series. LOL (I wonder if anyone will even get that joke)

magnets keep algae from developing in their resi. Thats all I could think of. Thats an aquarium trick

I get the eh pun.

Ahhh didn't even think of that as what was being referred to. I thought it was something to do with the light units themselves and for production... LOL

You will be one of the few that catches that. Though it could be considered a tribute.

Around midnight I heard a crashing sound

Went downstairs to investigate. I have raccoons and stray cats that regularly check out my BBQ area and thought they knocked something down, but saw nothing

This morning when I went to check the seedlings, the front of the tent (first one, bought from ledwholesalers) had collapsed. The 2 upper connectors broke under virtually zero strain

So I moved the babies under the SS 260

and away we go

^Criptic much?

Insight comes in many forms

As to technical insight, cause I know that's what floats YOUR boat, you will have to wait for their website

Since when is 630-660nm bad for vegging; "major downfall" (see Hans & chloro A/B peaks) ??? Also we're not trying to grow leafy greens, more like flowering annuals last time I checked:weed:

I prefer my panel designed by an electrical/lighting engineer............lol...............which brings me to my next question, how are the "umols evenly distributed across the tent"^^^ with tight led clusters/secondary optics??

SS's spectrum is nothing new, been around for years now............like i said before, if it's not efficient=== it's worthless. Nothing is more important than having the best diodes possible in the given nm/k, with minimal light losses, and being cooled/driven optimally (this is where the engineer comes into play;P), the rest is an afterthought IMO.

PSUAGRO, not like you to come off as contentious, but there you go...

I am sure you know full well we want leafy greens and short inter nodes during veg. Some ~ 600 during veg is good for root development, but too much, as is the case with the SPYDR 600 in my possession causes stretch during veg, and more-so during flower.

What exactly defines 'best diodes"? Like cars, there are lots of fairly close competitors in any given segment

Seems you have established Solar Spec panels to be worthless. Why would you put your reputation on the line like that?

For anyone here with an open mind, I will continue to post results, even though PSU seems to think I am wasting my time

Read my post again pet^^^^............I said IF it's inefficient, I have no idea what diodes are in the SS panels.

I ask again, does anyone know at this point???? Hope it's good, the more competition the better for everyone:)

Yep, looks like that pic, but we all know, you can't tell a book by its' cover

I'm pretty sure the designer would not waste his time and money making yet another inferior led panel to rip off us mj growers

It was due to him getting ripped off so many times (and reading many others woeful stories) that he decided to build mj specific panels for himself and us

We'll soon see how good he is right out of the shoot now that I was forced to move the babies under it yesterday.

I started at ~ 4ft to acclimate. Will lower to ~ 3ft today

PSU, I agree, those of us fortunate enough to test panels should realize it's not a competition. We do so for the common good

Whether we get great lights or poor lights, let the grows speak for themselves...

Everyone knows I was very high on the BML SPYDR, but my experience was after my grow was 2 weeks into 12/12. The SPYDR easily bettered 2 years using a BadBoy hot5 with a combination of bulb spectrums

During the reveg of BBCC that I grew under the S600, as soon as I figured out that as configured it causes too much stretch in veg, and perhaps flower, I reported it
to followers and to Nick at BML

One of things that drew me to the SPYDR is the 3 ft spine and 3ft bars evenly distributes the light across bars 2-5: only the outside perimeter falls off appreciably, but it's $999 up front.

I certainly couldn't afford it, and was grateful that Nick offered to send it in exchange for my reports (to be returned after this reveg). Keep in mind it is not designed specifically for mj. I asked, but there would be no provision to control the reds. IMO, its biggest shortcoming to date, but easily resolved. BML does offer individual bars with o/o switches, however bars cannot be mixed (no doubt due to production line efficiency), meaning all 6 bars must be identical spectrum wise. Perhaps Nick will make a separate department in the future to handle mj growers unique needs

Amare Tech designed his panels (with piggyback elec) to fill our tents with even umoles across the canopy.

IE in a 2 x 4 tent, either 2 SS panels @ 100 or 150, in a 3 x 3 = 4 @ 150 ina 4 x 4- 4 @ 260

He realized that most people cannot fork out money for 4 panels up front, so he offers discounts buying 2-3 and a large discount on the 4th panel. Nice!

FYI: Milliard tents (Amazon) come with 4 hanging poles and FREE SHIPPING

2 poles hang below the shorter two for added strength

Panels should be attached to the 2 upper poles
