Indoor to outdoor and back again

I'm growing indoors but can't provide nearly as much light as the sun, is it advisable to take the plants outside for a few hours a day for that intense sunlight, or does the risk of introducing pests to the plants make it not worth it?

Any recommendations?

I think you might have to worrie about the stress on the plants more then the bugs, but i'm not for sure

is this outside outside or a window sill? for how long? if u dont have sufficient inside lighting to substitute the sun then just do an outdoor grow.

I mean keeping the plants in the large pots and just setting the pots out in the sun for a few hours and then bringing them back inside. I have enough time to bring them out in the sun for a few hours a day but not the ability to leave them outside all the time. I mean outside outside, in the hot southern sun.

And the reason I ask is I read somewhere that the sun puts out about 15,000 lumens per sq ft and I could never match that, so does putting them in the sun for a few hours when I can help them out, or should I just leave them under their regular lights?
