Indoor Sativa Strain Recommendations?

I grow indoors.
I'd like to grow some sort of Sativa because none of the local weed is anything like it, I can't get Sativa's here and I want to smoke them because I'm sick of couchlock..

My next grow I'd like to start flowering plants at like 18-24".. is there a possible sativa strain for this? I know indoors is suited to Indica strains but eh..

If there isn't, recommend me any good strain. I'm only planting a few plants.
Thanks.

I got into indoor growing for the same reason. You can, as many others do, start flowering stretchy Sativas short to keep the height down. Some may not co-operate and start blooming until they are a certain age though (usually crosses of pure landrace strains) Even better is to grow them from clones. Many can be started flowering as soon as they root.

How much height do you have to grow in? As a rule of thumb (very rough) Sativas tend to get 3 to 4 times the height the first flowers show so 18" would be as tall as I'd start a sativa if you have 8 feet of vertical growth. You have to take into account the heat from the lamps if you go that tall, because You'll probably need a 1000w to get decent penetration on a tall plant like that.

Your tools are going to be cloning, topping, training, or maybe the best option a mix of all these and or scrog. I would be doing scrog myself, but I'm making some of my own crosses. That means males and males muixed with scrog makes for a big pain in the ass:cry:

For my Sat dom plants that are from seed, I top them as soon as they show some flowers, then train the fuck out of them using pipecleaners or floral wire. They actually seem to thrive this way, but I've heard it said it can slow the growth or cause hermies. I haven't seen these effects myself.

Like frmrboi said, clones you can pretty much flower as soon as they root. I like to wait until I see them start to add height just to make sure they are ready and will make the most of their potential.

One short sativa I'm thinking of going for is the Malawi Mini from afropips. I have never had this version of malawi, but the malawi I have smoked was VERY good if ur into sativas.

Oh yeah, I moved south 20 plus years ago to grow sativas outside. All the choppers, deer, squirrels, hogs, and wandering weed theives drove me back inside.

good luck:blsmoke::peace:

if you have the space train them bend them and tie them down they will just bend and grow up a friend if mine grew one had twenty ounces dry back of it but it was nearly 18 weeks flowering the white strains are good

Yeah AK-47 would work great, stays pretty short (from what I've seen). It just stinks too much in growth for my situation. Yo siempre olvido....

I'm growing some form of some strain of AK47 right now, they're doing pretty well. Almost time to harvest.. I'm going to see if they have enough Sativa in them for me before I decide.. they might be great.

Thanks the recommendations everyone. The ceiling in my growroom is probably 9ft, so I have room.. but that's alot of lights that I don't have and alot more side lighting.. no fun.

Is there any hybrids out there with a good head and sativa effect? I want to feel like I'm tripping. :twisted:

Thanks.
