Are they waiting to become outdoor? if so it is good to get them used to the sun befor just giving they straight sun. the sun is the greatest light in the world so hell ya take your plant's out to enjoy the sun!!!!!
I've been considering that idea. I am using CFL's at the moment but an switching to HPS this week (when it arrives). I have been told that HPS will be no good for veg growth.
Should I put outside to get some blues from the sun or will HPS do?
HPS should only be used during the flowering cycle unless it's the only thing you have. If you want blue spectrum for the vegitative (which you should be using), you could go with some CFL's, a Metal Hallide, or some flouros.

i have been putting my seedlings outside a couple hrs a day until i can transplant them . your going to hear all kinds of lighting schedules in this forum i have found the best lighting for me that is ,, is if your going to transplant outdoors then just give the seedlings the same amount of light as they would naturally get for me right now that is 13 hrs p/day i was giving seedlings 18/6 and it seemed like they were struggling since i put them on 13/11 they are doing really well this also keeps them from the stress of going from 18/6 inside to 13/11 outside
I have been doing that recently. On sunny days I turn off the lights and bring them outdoors to grow in the sun and save the power bill. Then at night I bring them back in, put a little more light on them and do it again the next day. I have my light timer set so it turns on when it gets light out and turns off about 11pm. I works great and the plants love being outside.
