indoor-outdoor photoperiod

Hello everyone,

I wanted to start some seeds now, and then move them outdoors in mid-May.
In mid-May I have more or less 15 hours of light. Using a photoperiod of 15/16 - 9/8 I should have no problems, right?

I wanted to hear your opinion and the methods you use...
Keep in mind that in outdoor I can't use additional lights.

Mo worries in regards to light cycle; only thing is, that around mid-September will you get a 12/12 cycle, by which time the temperature drops somewhat, but if you live in a warm climate, u should be fine. I ende up taking mine indoors , as it got colder and the buds stopped growing.
Watch Summer Temps; my girls got a bit limp after a couple of weeks of 35+ Degrees last year. Maybe grow in pots?

Why not try Autos? That way u get Two crops if u get your timing right, I.e. April-June / July-September; I did it that way last season and was happy with the results; grew 8 in total and still have some left to tie me over until this years harvest...

my outdoor season ends around mid-October... beyond it can become risky...
ok, so I keep a photoperiod equal to what's in mid-May and I'm fine

I read that some start with a photoperiod of 18/6 to lower it by 15 minutes a week until you get to the natural photoperiod present when they are transplanted outside... but I don't know how many advantages this system would bring

maybe I worry too much... the seeds unlike the clones, not being sexually mature, less problems of priming the flowering... with a photoperiod more or less equal to the outdoor one I should be fine. Starting now I should also be able to see the prefiori by mid-May.

I'm sorry for my bad English.

I was reading that some people say that if they move outside from mid-May onwards, there is no worry of triggering the early flowering and you can safely use a photoperiod of 18/6 (this only if we start from seed)

make me a little clear... thanks!

Don't know if this helps, but..

I start seeds (feminized) indoors in February-march sometimes earlier.

Under a 18/6 count and do tons. Training and fim

I DONT change my timer, I let it be.
I've never had re veg issues.

Mid April is our 15 hour mark so I aimfor end of April begin may to place them outside and leave them out in the night.

I harvest in sept-nov depending the strain.

My plants are grown in 10-20gal pots.

Thanks for starting this thread, rasna! I am interested in this topic as well.

I have a general question that seems to fit until this discussion. I have several month old clones under T5 (16.5 hr ON/ 6.5 OFF).
I put two of them outside a month ago. I expected them to start flowering since the day time is approx 9.5 - 10+ hours around that time.

So it makes me wonder if the plant can detect a day time photoperiod that is increasing and not change mode to flowering (even when the daytime is only 10+ hours)?

Or is that unlikely?
And more likely, I have a light leak from lights in the house that is keeping it in veg mode?

Thanks!
