so, without a humidifier, is there any best way to increase humidity? I set a big bucket of water in the closet im growing in. seemed to make sense. please help. im at 45% humidity now
run a ac duct from house ac it will run it up but u got to watch it dont get high then u get mold like i did on one plant
or try a big bowl of water with a fan blowing on it might work
thanks fabfun, but i dont have ac. its pretty cold where i am right now (northeast usa), which im sure is part of the problem, because its also pretty dry.
what is the fan thing? . . . and yeah, ive got a top to a tupperware cake container filled with water under the light (600 watt hps) and a fan behind it, and it has raised it to just over 50% now.
If you're going to use water in containers grab the largest surface area you can. It will increase the evolution of H2O that has the activation energy to escape water tension. Basically the molecules act like a shit-ton load of bouncy balls bouncing around your garage. if you only open the side door then only a few balls bounce out. But if you open the big garage door then a much larger amount of balls will escape. Also If there is any way to increase the temp of the water it will help raise your humidity. when the vapor pressure of fluids = atmospheric pressure then some molecules will have enough activation energy to evolve into gas (evolve basically means evaporate)
So the optimum way to raise your humidity is with warm treys of water.
Here is a chart for anyone who is interested. and here is an example of a tray I would use <<< the graph is in atms so at 1 on the y-axis those elements will turn have a few buddys turn to gas
hey if your using HID lights you can put a bowl of water on top of them and the heat will evaporate the water.. works like a charm just dont spill it!!!!!!!!!
