Increase nutrient amounts of you scrog??

I am attempting my first scrog and all seems to be going well. I have one question though....should you up the nutes you feed the plant or just proceed with the original feeding schedule that's been used since the beginning of the grow?

The only thing that a training technique will change is the way the plant 'moves' or changes in shape as it is manipulated...the needed nutrients are still the same for the plant as if it were not manipulated at all.

So, to answer your question...I would stay on the same regimen.

Feed your plant what it wants, don't follow a schedule. Now if you're growing a ton of plants then follow a schedule to cut down on time spent taking care of them all. But if your just growing one or a few read what it's eating and adjust accordingly.

Scrogging could make your plant multiple times the size of how you grew previously and a much larger plant may want more nutes. But then again there are a lot more factors involved as well.

So, training the plant to have many more tops, instead of one top and some side shoots, does not require any additional nutes? I ask because it seems like manipulating it into, say, 30 tops would cause her to have to work over-time. Anyway, Thx for the response...guess I will stick to my origanl feeding schedule, like you suggest!

As much as I appreciate the props...please do not take mine or anyone's advice or opinions on your grow and accept them as law. Do some studying and research...the search tool is your friend. And at the end of the day it is your grow and even though you may like what we have to say...it is still best to find out what you can on your own. Then if you get stuck ask for help.

HMMM as the writer here...I am evoking my right to edit the text of this message...

Anon has a great point. A plant that is 10 times the size will surely require more food in actual amounts then one of smaller stature. Actually, it just makes sense. I have 2 plants and never give more than a half gallon of water. I use the FF feeding schedule...based on 1 teaspoon per gallon math. If I was growing a much larger plant, then I would certainly need to up the feeding amount as well. But, I would still stay on the same schedule as far as feeding times.

So, depending on your plant size you my want to up it...you gots pics??

The stretch in the beginning of flower with a single monster plant scrog may require a fuck load more N, HOWEVER it is strain dependant so you need to be carefull especially with indica's. Anon knows this because he also does single scrog monsters if im not mistaken.

I sure do! And as SPL said, that flower stretch will really be a hungry point in time. I went up to a 2.0 EC during that time, now at about 5-6 weeks into flower she only wants about 1.1 EC, now and for the past couple weeks. Don't take my EC levels as any kind of guide though, unless you're running exactly the same way I am.

I run hydro, dwc, so I simply measure by EC to read the amount that the plant wants. If nute solution is too high the EC will increase, if nute solution is too low the EC will decrease. Prefer a decrease over an increase, yet a small decrease. I run a simple one bottle nutrient, floranova bloom, though so obviously that also depends on the ratio of nutes being given to create that level of EC, but generally you should be running a similiar balance.

I know nothing of soil but i'd imagine you could measure your runoff to find similiar data? You never mentioned medium but just to cover bases.

All great stuff for a hydro grower!!! Personally, I grow only in soil. I have never checked run off, ph, ec, ppm...any of it. I ph my water and then 'listen to my gurlz' They will tell me what they need.
