Incet frass???

How fast does the chemical that causes SAR response for rooting dilute or dissipate when used by aggressive phenotype type MJ? The directions on any if all Frass products say; apply twice a season. Will MJ deplete this chemical from the frass faster? The frass I used about 3 weeks ago has an organic 5/5/5 macro nutrient content..
Maybe people who have a lot of experience with this can chime in.

I have read up on different species sources of grass like Army fly or cricket/cockroach. Would using frass from an insect that typically attacks roots be more effective? Maybe a specie that specifically attacks MJ roots. Thanks!

I don't think SAR has anything to do with rooting.

I read about this stuff years ago. I basically tricks your plants into believing they are under attack by insects so it cranks out more resin to protect itself.

Mine ARE being attacked by insects, mites, but I'm not seeing lots more resin yet. :)

I've never heard of it affecting resin production. It's a Systemic Aquired Resistance stimulant. An immune booster that also increases the plants vigor.

I had a link to a FAQ about from a company in California but the link is dead. Found anew one from the same company tho it doesn't specify pot plants. Called OnFrass.

It basically triggers a plants defenses and part of pot's defenses are to produce resins to trap insects and that was the logic behind it making you plants more resinous but I don't recollect where I read that.

Crab meal is supposed to do much the same thing.

I don't do organic so not sure if any of it would help in soilless with hydro nutes tho am using Bud Factor X with my plants atm and it has crustacean stuff in it. Got a free 500ml bottle from a hydro store I shopped at in BC so giving it a go.

This is my first season using insect frass myself. I do outdoor in smart pots and when doing my soil mix I added frass this last spring and am going to do up a root drench for application in the morning. I've got the 2-2-2 version.

using insect frass has made the biggest difference for me since I starting using aact regularly.

I top dressed with it, and 2 days later had a terrific fungi cover, and it keeps getting better. Since then, it pretty much goes in everything, and I'm very happy with it. Way more so than anything else similar that I've used. great growth rate and vigor, very perky leaves. try it.

I think the 2-2-2 is the only kind but I could be wrong!
